In the past 2 years I have walked the "Chemin St Jacques" from Puy-en-Velay to St.Jean-Pied-de-Port. Next year I plan to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Best known route for this is the "Camino Franchèse", going from StJean-Pied-de-Port via Pamplona - Logrono - Burgos - Léon to Santiago de Compostella. This route seems to be rather crowded however and the lanscape & roads sometimes not treally nice to walk. I therefore consider to walk the "Camino del Norte", which goes along the Northern coast of Spain via San Sebastian -Santander-Oviedo. Can anyone tell me from personal experience or other sources if this is a more pleasurable walking experience than the "Camino Franchèse"?Information on other alternate routes to the present "Camino Franchèse" will also be very welcome.
