  1. Its sad, I know, because one of my fish jumped out of my tank because the water had too much ammonia and my cat ate it. I know because he spit it back up. I agree with the person below me, way overcrowded. It my seem empty/ish, but fish need personal space, too.

  2. Is the tank covered? She could have jumped out and gotten under some furniture, or eaten by a cat. She could have been eaten then sucked through the filter, or her body could be in the plants or gravel. Just a tip, your tank is about 18 gallons, right? It's WAY overcrowded

  3. FILTER.  Or it's possible the bodies have ended up in the gravel in/around plants and other tank decorations and you're just not seeing them.

The filter would be my first guess though.

  4. look inside your filter many times they get sucked up when they are dead. Also do you have a ship or another hiding spot? My friend thought her fish died for several days until it swam out of her pirate ship decoration haha...

  5. With that many fish in there, you'd be surprised by how quickly they can finish off a body.

I have 5 guppies and they've eaten a dead pleco about 3 times their size.

You might find bones the next time you clean through the gravel.  That's happened to me before, it's quite lovely.

  6. Check the filter thoroughly.  Otherwise... the other fish probably ate it.

  7. I tend to lean away from the idea that the balloon belly molly got sucked up by the filter because of the size of the fish(an exception would be if the filter was missing the cap that keeps the fish out of the in-take tube). My guess would be that it died and either the pleco or the cory catfish found it.Both of these are scavengers so it's just their nature.
