  1. You will have to be either very lucky or rich to answer this one! Parish records only go back to 1538 at the very earliest and so to prove a relationship earlier than this generally depends upon whatever available records there are that may mention a father & son. These might be manorial records, State Papers, land transactions etc.

    At such an early date you will probably need a professional researcher to help you as many of the documents would be in Norman or Norman Latin and are difficult to read. Consult the membership list of the AGRA to find one.
