  1. Your dad should not be asking principals or teachers, who by-and-large know zip about homeschooling.

There are many, many websites on the internet.  Here is one of my favorites:  http://www.midnightbeach.com/hs/  This site has links to pretty much everything you'll want to know.

Be sure to check out the laws and the support groups for your state.  http://www.midnightbeach.com/hs/listlist...   It's vital that you and your family know comply with your state's laws.  Joining a homeschool organization is an important part of gaining information and support.

    All the best.

  2. if your in highschool, your school counselor. he or she can set everything up, and a lot of times, the school district pays for it.

  3. Here's a good site to start with.

    http://canihomeschool.blogspot.com/

And then I would ask for some referrals form one of the online schools so he can talk to a homeschool parent.

    Best of Luck!

  4. Do not ask a principal or a teacher for sure.  Not only do they not know much about it, they tend to hate it for personal reasons.  Contact  Homeschooling Legal Defense Association for starters because they know every state.  They can put you in touch with your state organization and they in turn can give you a list of all the homeschool support groups in your state.  You can also try googling "homeschool support groups" followed by the name of your state.  A homeschooler from a support group in your area can explain everything.

  5. If I were in your shoes, I'd find a local homeschool support group and attend a few get-togethers.  Bring your dad and have him talk to the other parents about what it's like to homeschool and what your state requirements are.

    Good luck!

  6. Tell your dad to go to http://www.hslda.org . That's the website of the Home School Legal Defense Association, and it has all the information he could want there, as well as some helpful links.

This is the curriculum I use, and one that could be worth checking out for you: http://www.sonlight.com . It is a Christian curriculum, but you can leave out the Bible courses if you don't want a Christian education.

I wouldn't ask a teacher/principal about it, as they would probably try to talk you out of it. For whatever reason, public schools don't like losing students. I don't really know why; they still get your money even if you don't attend the school.

    Good luck!
