we lived 7 years in Germany and in those 7 yrs only once did we eat a mediocre meal in the whole country and we ate out alot (3 times a week, minimum).  However, when we traveled to new 'towns' (we lived in Heidelberg) we used the RED MICHELIN GUIDE books - for both hotels and restaurants - it NEVER steered us wrong.

Another option is to go to TRIPAdvisor.com and see what others recommend or don't recommend!  enjoy

if you go to the ratskeller its great! they have really good german spatsle and its just good all around! its under some big town building and in some square! sorry i cant help you out with names, but i swear its good!

You could probably go to any nice restaurant in Munich.
