  1. The Flower Drum in Chinatown is a must!!

Excellent service and great Chinese food :)

  2. Hello, I have the perfect solution for you.....a German restaurant 'The Hofbrauhaus'. It is in the city near Parliament station on market Lane, off Chinatown....I highly recommend it, for $100 or less you can have a 3 or 4 course meal and drinks...

    Christmas function:  http://www.hofbrauhaus.com.au/function_h...

    Website:   www.hofbrauhaus.com.au

  3. Would recommend the Rendezvous, beautiful older hotel, great food and close to Flinders St Station if you were planning on using public transport!

  4. Someone I know went to the Hilton Hotel on the Park two years ago at Christmas and said it was great. Otherwise the Windsor hotel has a great reputation.

There's a whole article on picking a place in Melbourne at: http://www.miettas.com.au/restaurants/re...

Might be worth a visit. Two recommendations there are for France Soir and Cosi, both in South Yarra (about 10 minutes by train from the CBD). Both are great restaurants from experience.

  5. No idea about which restaurant is going to offer Christmas lunch this year. But lunch at Loreen's Village Cafe has a a wide variety of lunch offerings, and homestyle turkey "dinners." They have the yummiest Cream Chipped Beef on Toast on the weekends.

They also seem to have arranged Christmas lunch last year.
