  1. While I don't have that ability, I have witnessed people who have done it. It's really strange because they're just uttering what sounds like weird language or incomprehensible syllables.

I wouldn't worry if God doesn't give you that gift. He has plenty of others to give, and I would just do what I can to help people out. Before long, you'll notice that God did give you some talent that you can use to help people, such as being able to interpret what those speaking in tongues say. I recall the Bible says that not everyone gets the same gifts, which is kind of cool because it makes us unique.

  2. Speaking in tongues is real and that is awesome that you 100% believe in it.

The gift comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Keep believing and keep praying. Don't try to force yourself into tongues it will happen as you draw closer to God in your prayer life.

For me the first time it happened was when I was sick in hospital and I heard the voices of angels and started to pray out loud in the voices/language I was hearing. This was accompanied by an enormous sense of peace and calm. The huge amount of pain I was in at the time disappeared and I was healed from what had happened to me.

Best advise is to go to a place where you can just pray and draw closer to God and don't set out to pray in tongues just wait for the Spirit to guide you tongue as you pray. There are a lot of good books on the topic and another great port of call to ask questions is a spirit lead church. (Think pentecostal)

    God bless

  3. Today, no one can miraculously speak in tongues.  It was only for the time when the church was young and spreading into new areas.

  4. Spiritually you can do it, but your flesh is resistant because it feels awkward and you get much too self-conscience. Try doing it totally away from people. You have to chill out at first, again it's awkward at first.

  5. Have a believing pastor lay hands on you and ask for the gift of tongues.  And just open your mouth and let what comes out come out.  Don't go by your feelings because the devil will not want for you to have this gift.  This is the spirit praying for you, most powerful.  Trust in the word of God, trust that God has given you this gift as to glorify Him through you.

Many of people will discouage you to receive this gift, again the enemy at work.  Many christians will discourage you from seeking this gift but Be strong and of good courage.

It's different at first but like it has been mentioned by someone else it the spirit tongue will develope with continual practise.  Do not go by feelings.

  6. I used to be Christian and this website helped me a lot with the same struggle you are going through: http://www.gotquestions.org/gift-of-tong...

You can ask ANY question and they back every answer up with scripture 100%., If they don't have an answer to your quesiton, you can email them and they will respond--I've eamiled them several times.

  7. When I first started speaking in tongues all I could say was babababa, then the more I said it more words would come to my mind and I would say those.  Just say what you feel you are hearing and in time you will develop more fluent words.

  8. A Spiritual gift is a gift, you cannot assume that you are going to get it. We are told to seek greater gifts. Also, if you speak in tongues in the congregation and there is no interpreter, then you are told to do it at home, alone. The bible says isn't it better to speak one work that encourages others than to speak tongues that no one else can understand. Tongues admonishes yourself, not others. Seek gifts that admonish others.

  9. Speaking in tongues is a gift and not everyone receives the same gift. Don't worry about it but if it is a gift you want then keep on praying and asking for it.

Of course it doesn't feel right as you are use to hearing words that you understand come out of your mouth.

My advice is please don't try to fake it as that is so wrong. Don't try to speak gibberish as God does not need help if He wants to give you this gift.

God will give you the gift if He wants you to have it, if not He will give you a different gift or even gifts.

  10. thy will come out. and you will lose that and you thank its gone but it is not gone don't werry thy are still there. mine was like oh la la la saw la la see la la so and then thy came out then I was speaking in japan so it sounded like. but that was ok. and now it is better. so dont give up jest let it come out the way it want to.mine sound like mexcan. ha ha ha

  11. I speak in tongues. I speak in Spanish, German and even some Greek. It isn't a spiritual gift though. The spiritual gift would be the ability to speak in another language that you don't even know. When you speak this language the Bible tells us that are to have an interpreter. Also the Bible says we would all have different gifts. Keep this all in mind.

  12. Are you effing kidding me?  What a joke.  Look, finger, tongue, it's all the same, get in, get it done and get off.   Bye, bye, bye.

  13. Tongues is something inspired by the Holy Spirit, not something you can teach yourself to do. When it happens you'll know it's real!! The first time it happened to me the words just started spilling out! It was incredible. But not everyone does it. Be patient. Don't force it. It's NOT something you can learn how to do. So don't go and buy one of those books that claims to teach you how. The Holy Spirit distributes gifts as he sees fit! Good luck!

  14. "ive asked god for the gift of speaking in tongues

    i 100% belive in it

but when i try to do it

    it doesnt feel right

i feel like im forcing the words"

Everyone can speak in toungues.  All you have to do is babble nonsense.  It has been shown over and over that such activity is faked.

  15. Every other tongue speaking person has no problem forcing the words.  From my experience every single person I heard uses only 2 syllables.  Dadadadedededa

So just pick two syllables, raise your arms and close your eyes while you do your gibberish and the others will buy it too.

  16. Paul made it pretty clear that speaking in tongues without an interpreter is of NO VALUE.

Question any event where an interpreter is not present.

A few quotes from the following site regarding speaking in tongues using 1 Corinthians.

... Paul says that he desires that they [the Corinthians] would indeed be able to supernaturally speak with other ethnic languages as he can, but on the other hand, he is soundly renouncing and rebuking the ecstatic utterances which were actually taking place in this church.

    and

... we see that tongues (both ethnic languages and the Corinthian ecstatic utterance) had to be interpreted for the profit of the entire assembly, vv. 5, 13, 27, 28; thus, if there was no interpretation for what was spoken, neither ethnic languages nor ecstatic utterance was permitted.

In short, if you don't have an interpreter, you SHOULD NOT DO IT.

A number of denominations require speaking in tongues as proof that the Holy Spirit has entered you, thus proving you are saved.  Unfortunately, many are forced to fake it to appease those present.

  18. Speaking in tongues is clear in Acts 2. Below I have a link that is from Acts 2 PLEASE read it.

The Disciples had just received the give of tongues (languages) and had come down from an upper room.

There was a Jewish Celebration and Jews from other lands were all in Jerusalem. Many spoke in different tongues (languages). When Peter and the rest came down they told them of Jesus and how he had been crucified and each one heard him in HIS OWN LANGUAGE. Think about it. REad it for yourself. The gift of tongues MEANS you can speak in a language that anyone one in the world would understand-NOT some language that only God can.

Now also listen to this. The bible says "The gift of tongues is for the lost" It is not some special language only for Christan's. It's a miracle to people could see it and believe in Jesus.

1 corinth 14: 22 "Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers."

    God bless

  19. It is fake and anybody who claims to be able to is a liar. Why do you feel the need that you must be able to do this? Is it because you are just trying to fit in in your church, or does your church tell you that if you do not have this ability then you have no evidence of your salvation? It simply saddens me that so many people are still stuck on the whole signs and wonders issue even though Jesus himself said that there would be no more signs and wonders given. How about you email me and I will show you why it is fake.
