Who can you give your army life insurance to?

When you first join the army they ask you who you want to give your life insurance to(if you die). can you give it to someone who is younger than 21 if they are not you wife, but they are your GF?

  1. Yes, as long as they are 18.

    But if you have a wife, the army will strongly suggest it is them.


  2. It's called SGLI.  You can designate anyone who is 18 or older.  If you are married and designate anyone other than your spouse, your spouse will be notified of that fact.  Google "SGLI".

  3. You make anyone you like beneficiary of your life insurance.
