As long as London provides good facilities from all the athletes its all that matters. As long as the athletes compete well and produce a good show its all good. We dont need a fancy pancy opening ceremony like China!

Its all about sport !

  1. I have faith that London can make an awesome opening ceremony. Their fireworks are amazing! I'm expecting quite a show from London. Let's just wait and see.

  2. Oh good. I have heard something about David Beckham and a double decker bus at the flag handover and I am already terrified!

After Becks, all you got left is Paul McCartney, Fish and chip and "our" Ashes.

I think what you need is to toss out gold chocolate medals laced with sleeping tablets and then tell everyone the next day that it was SOOOOO cool they all got drunk and passed out.

    LMAO! Love ya all really.

  3. The Beijing spectacle is understandable, as China really wanted to make a dramatic statement, and they succeeded hands down.  I don't see where Great Britain needs to introduce itself to the world in that manner, and I hope they don't succumb to the temptation.  I agree with you when 2012 rolls around -- let the games begin.

  4. I live right next to where it will be held ie one of the shittest areas in the country and work on the construction site things are moving slow and the designs are shiit well never top China in anything

  5. You sound defeated before you've even given it a shot.  Just put on a huge rock concert.

  6. your absolutely right who cares what a fancy shoe they made what impact has it made everyones bleeding forgot about it and how much money time and effort went into it... jeez its all hype

lmao and the moron above me is a complete bellend lol

  7. you say "We dont need a fancy pancy opening ceremony like China!" because you care.

    indeed, no one cares.

  8. The opening ceremony is part of Olympics. Athletics enter the stadium with all the cheers and supports. IOC and the host presentation, athletics's and judge's oath. Yeah China's one is fancy but if they can afford and able to do it, why not?

4-year is a long time in technology-wise, maybe London will give us a unforgettable open ceremony too =)

  9. It won;t be like Beijing as there is no way anyone can top that ceremony. However you need to get the party started somehow, so lets hope its fun, reflects the true nature of the sports and London and Great Britain as a whole

  10. It also a place to show the world your country

It's to bad, England has some of best Rock bands of all times

They should try to get the Rolling Stones

England has a chance to not to so stuffy

That is why most Americans love Princess Diana, and not prince Charles

England can show the best of there country, without being stuffy, that would be cool

  11. You cannot show anything like China. An enterprise of SLAVE-TRADERS cannot be compared to a 5 thousand year old civilization.

  12. We care thats who. The opening ceremonies is part of the Olympics that gets all the viewers and those participating in the Olympics-blood going. It gets them rev'd for what they are participating in.
