  1. A lot of people will tune out from PGA televised competitions now that Tiger is gone. The corporate sponsors are probably worried silly that TV ratings will drop dramatically...and they definitely will.

Personally, I've cancelled my premium pay-TV sports subscription that I had especially purchased just so I could watch Tiger compete.

The negative economic ripple effect caused by his absence will be significant indeed.

  2. Real golf fans; thats who will still care about the PGA tour.

Realize there are over 100's of other tour pros that will be in contention week after week.

There is alot of exciting golf left to be played.

The fight for the Fedex will be very interesting for sure.  Who will step up and advance in the standings?  Phil definately has a shot; only if he gets another win and some top finishes.

  3. no1 cares golf is tiger woods...tiger woods is the  main attraction 2 golf.

  4. It's a bit funny that, somehow, the sport was able to remain alive prior to September 1996.

Every event will still have a full field; Woods does not exactly play an exhaustive schedule- in fact, he plays very few events relative to most guys on tour.

If you actually love the game as you say you do, then you'll still love it whether or not Woods is playing.  Or not; the game will go on, and millions will still watch in person and on television.

Perhaps while Woods is getting healed he can learn how to play faster; his pace of play would be chartiably called glacial.

  5. I certainly still care about the PGA Tour.

  6. It is tough to care because I only watched Tiger because you never knew when he was going to do something unbelievable.

  7. a lot of people will be happy with tiger out (excluding me) it will give youngsters a chance to shine, but your right it won't be the same with out tiger

  8. I know.  Way to go out leaving everyone begging for more.  What a c**k tease.

  9. I'm glad he will not be there cause sportscenter will not waste any time on golf highlights anymore

  10. Tiger is the main reason people go to tournaments. Why wouldn't they want to watch the world's # 1 play? Without Tiger, the crowd numbers won't be as high.

  11. I think it's going to open things up for Trimmer Pimpleton to really show his stuff.  Also, look out for a young upstart by the name of Bucky Lou Coltrane.

  12. This is the chance for the other names to come up big. I see phil winning again without tiger, but if the PGA wants us to keep interest, then the players will have to step up bigtime./

  13. Good point. But I think it will be more competitive without him. Some new faces will get a chance to pick up some wins. Phil could have a chance to work up the rankings and possibly take over Tiger's spot. It will be interesting to see. But i do agree wtih you. If you're not beating Tiger Woods, you're not the best.

  14. golf junkies like golf with or without TW.  NASCAR survived without #3 (although I have NO idea what the attraction is)

I definitely care about the TOUR

  15. Hugely popular just like the Player's Championship that went on without him.

  16. It's still interesting.
