More importantly is, which city should host the first ever Y/A hockey section convention?? And why would you nominate that city to host the convention?

  1. While Toronto may have the most hockey fans, having the game there would not really boost the fan base as much compared to a city that has a medium amount of fans compared to Toronto. It will probably be played somewhere in the USA to boost interest in hockey. Ive heard it would be the last event at Yankee Stadium before the tear it down?

  2. I say either Florida or California. If I'm going to meet some of you animals I want it warm and check oot the local talent.City I'd say West Palm Beach.

  3. While Toronto "should" be the logical host, traffic here is horrible enough as it is (I do think the Dalton "Do Nothing" McGuinty should allow residents to arm themselves while driving so we can shoot the tourist brigade that slows to 20km on the QEW "look kids...Skydome...CN Tower!").  So I'd say Montreal.  In America...I'd say Minneapolis.

Plus, if Toronto hosted it, you'd have some city do-nothing talk about how Toronto is a world class city, and that'll just make me want to drink more.

The winter classic should be played in Minnesota as well.

  4. well considering that the snow was a problem last time i think the league should pick Miami to ruin it this time!

after the first period maybe they can Rollerblade

  5. I care! they are thinking about doing that at Wrigely Field!!!!! how awesome is that? except they should be doing it at Soldier Field because its a little more practical.

Im taking Chicago out of the running for the first ever Y!A hockey section convention because it's already hosting the first ever Chicago Blackhawks convention! But actually, now that im thinking about it, it wouldn't be a bad place to do it since its sort of in the middle of all of us

  6. philadelphia...

cause its a big city and they have the most die hard hockey fans

  7. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other...I'll either go watch it live or on the boob tube...

hmmm....I nominate Monetgo Bay, Jamaica. All inclusive package...that means..once there you pay for nada!! That's right Homes...all the booze you can DRINK!!!!!!

  8. Wild vs Canucks in the new Twins ballpark

  9. honestly, i would say any city in Canada with a hockey team because hockey is more popular in Canada. (note the word more)

so when and where are we meeting?? =)

  10. i care...i really want it to be in chicago!

~somewhere in the middle of canada and the US...it doesnt matter if its in the middle of no-where cause we will have each other!~

  11. Toronto. I think it's a bigger city and more hockey fans than Philadelphia. I think Montreal has more hockey fans than Philadelphia. Plus, the Hall's here. And the rest of you can see how stupid and self-centred people are in this city.....I think we should go to Philadelphia.

LMAO Leafsfan!! That bit about rubbernecking tourists is so true...!!! "Oh, look, kids, they even have car accidents in Toronto!!" But that'll never happen because we have a "handgun ban" in the city. Yep, it's against a municipal bylaw to carry a handgun now. Never mind the few federal laws that makes it illegal to carry one that's loaded (prohibited firearm, concealed weapon) to begin with, it's a one-and-a-quarter whammy to carry one in Toronto.

  12. I really don't care where the next Winter Classic is held.  I was hungover that day (New Years Day=bad idea), and fell asleep half way though the game.  I guess I am a sourpuss, because I found it boring.  I did think it was great for the NHL, and bringing more exposure to the America market.

I think the Y!A convention should be in Philly, Detroit, or Toronto.  That seems to be where most of the people on here live.  Not only that, I want to get out of this heat!

  13. Boston :D

I can take the train into Boston...I don't know how much I'll have to pay to get other places.. ;]

  14. Chicago. There is a lot to do in Chicago and it is in the middle of the country so it would be easy for everybody to get here.

Munich wouldn't be bad either. I wouldn't mind going back there for a third time.

  15. dude i have no clue

  16. Toronto; we'll meet up at the hockey hall of fame!

  17. I hope its in Yankee Stadium like they said, that would be awesome.

I vote for the First Convention being at Oktoberfest in Munich.

  18. I don't really care all to much.

Hmm I'm all for somewhere in FL. I've got people down there too, so I'd stay while after the convention:) Philly would be a good 2nd choice theres lots of people here from there.

  19. Chicago, because then I'd be going to watch my Wings play against them.
