Question:

Who checks a childs hearing?

My daughter has a few learning difficulties that have just recently been addressed. I would like to take her to get her sight and hearing tested to rule out any issues which may stem from these. I know I need to take her to an optometrist to get her eyes tested, but where do I get her hearing tested? She has an appointment with her paediatrician scheduled in a couple of weeks and would like this done ASAP. Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance...!

  1. Go to your pediatrician 1st. If they detect any problem, then they will refer you to a pediatric ear, nose, throat doctor.

  2. A pediatric ENT.

  3. ENT clinic. EARS, NOSE and THROAT. But if she's school age the school nurse can do it also. Pediatrician is a for sure place also.

  4. A Gastroenterologist/ Audiometric specialist is your best source.
