  1. Most of the freight trains I have seen over the past few years appear to be all graffiti. The owners do not seem interested in having spotless cars. Since the rail line is responsible for its own property and there have been many mergers, money is being spent on safety equipment, good rolling stock, leveled rail beds, and not on cosmetic effects.

  2. No one.

As long as the reporting marks and COTS information are legible, they are good to go, from a company stand point.

Interestingly enough, however, is aside from all the "gangsta" c**p represented, there is often some outstanding art work, made all the more amazing considering the medium is cans of spray paint.

  3. As stated, cars are usually only repainted when important stenciling is no longer visible. Even then, they won't repaint the entire car. Instead, they'll paint a clean rectangle and restencil on top of that. Particularly offensive graffiti is sometimes painted over as well, but just enough to cover the offending tag. Nothing fancy.

  4. Contracted Graffitti Cleaners

  5. yea, the freights are owned by the company that their name is on the side, they normally just repaint them.
