Did the French maintain control of Dijouti, Africa to control the southern passage into the RedSea. I know they have ground forces in Dijouti. Do they also have a large Naval Force?

  1. You would think the French control nothing, and I was ready to say, "Yes, as it should be in case of a sovereign nation... Control nothing but themselves." But then, of course, sneaky France, besides all the foreign territories it holds here and there across the world, still actually has a big-azz colony in South American by the name of French Guinea... Which the European Union actually uses for space-shuttle launches.

How many people knew that? French Guinea is East of Venezuela and a big f'ng country too for a country that only about 3-4% of the U.S. population has probably ever heard of.

  2. Moses did at one time till he crossed lol, since then it's between Egypt to maintain the entry at the Suez Canal and the rest of the Asian and African countries bordering it to work together. So really like most large bodies of water...no one.

As for France's Navy, it is very large. I think it is the largest in Western Europe. They have:

1 aircraft carrier (Charles de Gaulle),

    1 helicopter cruiser (Jeanne d'Arc)

2 amphibious assault ships of the The Mistral type

3 Landing Platform Dock of the Foudre type and Bougainville type

12 destroyers (officially classified as frigates)

    11 frigates

    9 corvettes (classified as "aviso")

    4 ballistic missile submarines

    6 nuclear attack submarines

They do maintain a naval base and a joint strategic base (notably home of the 13th demi-brigade of the French Foreign Legion) and the landing craft Dague in Djibouti.

  3. The French control nothing. They just have the custodial services contract. It was touch and go for a minute. Illegals from Mexico gave them a run for the contract.

  4. me.

I said "Boo!" to the French and they surrendered the territory on the spot.
