Zdeno Chara at the moment has the hardest slap-shot but it all depends on the situation in my opinion.

There's a big diffrence between the all-star competition and a regular game.Your not gonna get much of a slap-shot if your being pressured and people are in front of your shots.

Currently, Chad Kilger has the unofficial modern record of 106.6 MPH.  Most of the answers listed above are only considering all-stars.

He recorded this at a team skills competition.

At this years All Star competition, Chara won with 103 mph. Coming in second was Vinny LeCavalier with 101mph I believe.
