  1. Sanity is a standard, not a permanent title. Sanity is pretty subjective. It depends on whether you're talking about "insane" actions or "clinically insane" thoughts.

There are plenty of wealthy and successful people who have "insane" thoughts who keep them in their head. Those who actually act on these thoughts and go so far as to violate the law in the process, get labeled "insane".

  2. If you are feeling like you are going crazy you might want to find a psychologist you feel comfortable talking to. Psychiatrists just want to put you on some kind of meds that will leave you zoned out and miserable as opposed to feeling nuts and miserable. Psychologists on the other hand talk to you to find the stress points in your life and then help give you solutions to those problems that fit best into your life and busy schedule. In the end however only you can know how you feel. Depression kills. It doesn't matter who you talk to as long as you talk to someone! Keep in mind that you have to be really honest and open up to whomever you choose to talk to. That can be the hardest part of getting help because we don't want to admit to anyone how insane we  really feel or think we really are out of fear of being laughed at or not being taken seriously or finding out that you really do have a serious problem. To every problem there is a solution. The longer you wait to get help the longer it will take to fix the problem and get back to being able to enjoy all of the things that we love and that make this life so worth living. It can be fixed and get better! Don't zone out! Find a comfort zone. Remember- I'm FINE! really means I'm Freaked out, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional! It's ok! So are most of the rest of us at some point or other whether we admit it or not. when we admit it we get better. when we get better we get happy. Here's hoping that you go from fine to happy for yourself and the ones that love you.

P.S. I started by pouring out my soul to my cat. She offered unconditional love and truly seemed to care that I felt so miserable. It helped me to be able to put my problems into a context that I could relate to my psychologist\ councelor later on without feeling like I sounded like a complete idiot as well as being crazy! My cat has never laughed at me except the day she ran in, jumped in my lap, farted in my face, meowed, jumped down and ran out of the room leaving me choking in the green haze of her SBD methane gas. I know she was laughing! Her meow meant Gotcha! Go ahead and laugh! it's funny to me too... now!

  3. In B.C. it takes two GP's to have anybody put into the hospital against their will for assessment, which is only if they are a danger to themselves or others. We have a whole lot of homeless mentally ill people here.

  4. no one.

only you can know every detail in your life and peice together whether or not you're sane

but if you're insane, well, i doubt you're going to think you're insane

  5. umm....whether you're taking meds or not.

also, an easy way to tell, is to go get a coca cola, and the whole bottle

  6. Why so serious?

  7. well, if you want to get REALLY serious and in depth, there could be a gigantic philosophical argument about "what really is insanity" and that sanity is in the "eyes of the beholder" or that everyone is insane, Only YOU can decide, etc.

But from my observations, i guess that through the years of standardized testing, trial and error, and some common sense, sanity is almost a numeric value now, definable in a plethora of very large words. I think when one goes into a "mental evaluation" that is where the declaration is made. I think at least several doctors must come to the same conclusion like a judging table.

of course, that means that the level of "insanity" is infinitely undulating with the general sanity of the population a person in question resides. so if you are asking if there is some sort of big  brother-ly guy handing out insane stamps, i guess there isn't.
