It's tough to decide on one wrestler from all eras that you could use to define wrestling.

If you're talking about wrestling as a spectacle, then there can be an argument for guys like Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, or Andre the Giant.

If you're talking about wrestling as entertainment, then you can talk about guys like the Rock, Steve Austin or Ric Flair.

If you're talking about wrestling as sport, then you can talk about guys like Antonio Inoki, Ed Lewis or Bret Hart.

There is no one wrestler that defines wrestling.  Because there are so many aspects that goes into it the business.

If there is any one person that defines wrestling, then you look at the fan that goes to every event that he can, whether he sits in the front row at the Garden or back in the nosebleeds of Ford Field.  That is who defines wrestling.
