Who deserves to become the Captain of India now?

VIRENDER SEHWAG has been performing very very well.

Despite offering so much for his nation,he hasn't enjoyed his time as a Captain so much.

Shouldn't BCCI make Sehwag the captain & then give oppurtunity to Dhoni or Yuvraj?

Dhoni can become a captain any time later as he will play for many more time & so do Yuvraj but Virender may not be there after 5 years.

So,what do u say?

Yes.it is true that India have been succesful under dhoni till now but...........?

Though Virender Sehwag is a potential match winner, he has not been able to cement his place in the Indian Team due to his inconsistent performance  and failure to adopt to the situation.

That is the reason why he lost the chance of becoming captain.

for Indian team...captaincy is a HOT SEAT coz,whenever a player takes up Captaincy,his perfomence was affected..Many experienced players like Ganguly,Dravid,Sachin failed Indiavisually when they were appointed as Captains.

as v hav seen in IPL yuvraj's was under pressure bcoz of captaincy and thus his batting was affected..

Dhoni and Yuvraj are the two main contenders.

Yea,Sehwag is a natural leader but as long as he isn't a reliable player he will/should not become the captain of the side.You never know when his bad form will start and for how long will it persist.An out of form captain will have negative effect on the team so you always have to find someone more consistent for the captaincy job.

Dhoni and Yuvraj are the two guys who have been consistent in odi cricket and are captaincy material.

So one of them should be the captain.

Gambhir though is playing well right now,i don't think he is ready to lead team india

I'd suggest a rotating Captaincy just as they have 'heads' in some Colleges.

Starting with Yuvaraj for a while. That way the others will be on their toes trying to perform too.

Dhoni is good. Only it has gone to his head. He got it too soon and too much.

India hypes its captains. Just now MSD gets paid 4 Crores for an ad. Is difficult to concentrate on the game sometimes with all the media attention.

Guess that will happen to any Captain. So the Captain should be a Senior whao has been in limelight for a while.

I don't think Sehwag is a captain. For one thing he is far to inconsistent as a batsman. A captain needs to be able to be relied on in tight situations, Sehwag seems to be to hit or miss for this.

As much as I disliked Ganguly, at least he was reliable. I think maybe Yuvraj could be more level headed than Sehwag.

sehwag has offered so much for our team and so he should be given captaincy.

if at all he had stayed in our team last year,he would have been made captain after dravid's resignation, but unfortunately things had not happened in his favour.

but he was the vice captain when dravid was captaining, so he must be given the captaincy.

dhoni is just too lucky i would say,

if at all misbah had not tried that foolish shot at T20 final's final over , then dhoni should have shut his mouth.

k now what has happened is happened, now sehwag should get the captaincy, he is now in best of his forms, so i'd suggest him as captain.........

Dhoni is a fine captain...you shouldn't change your captain over a few losses. That's not what a team is all about... Dhoni stcuk by the youngsters of India and won against Australia..i think people need to stick by Dhoni now.

No Sehwag's time has gone. He was Vice Captain and then got dropped for lack of form. He's of greater use as a batsman now and due to his experience in the absence of the Fab Four not being able to get in whether due to age, form,fitness or politics. You can have only 2 options at one time and Dhoni & Yuvraj are it. When one of them gets into a bad phase a third force will emerge.....
