I am so sorry no one has found an answer for you.  I have just read  BUNCH of histories of the city and nowhere does it mention that any one person designed the city.  It was established by Roman refugees fleeing the Goths sometime between 413 and 422 A.D.  Diffrent famous artists and designers are given credit for different bridges, cathedrals and buildings in Venice, but I could find no mention of a master plan for the city or a person reponsible for designing the city.

  3. Venezia is 1200 yrs old. How may a single person have designed all?
