At the end of the year, he teamed with Sampras to win the doubles rubber in the Davis Cup final, where the U.S. defeated Switzerland 3–1. He also played the Munich Indoor on December 7th 1992 where he lost to Goran Ivanisevic 3-6 6-4 6-2 in a Quarter Final match up.
