It is reported that John McCain dearly wanted his close friend Joe Lieberman to be selected as Vice Presidential candidate. You might expect a Maverick to set his own course.

Sure, Lieberman would have been a tough sell to the christian conservatives, but he could always play the fear card to motivate that lot. Certainly, his task would have been much easier than trying to sell Sarah Palin to his white male base.

If McCain is truly a Maverick, then who forced him to put Joe Lieberman off the bus? Does John McCain truly dance to somebody else's tune? Whose tune does he dance to?

  1. if my email to McCain informing him he would lose my vote with a pro-Death candidate was echoed by others, then i would say McCain listened to the people.

isn't that what politicians are supposed to do?

  2. yeah...that was me.  You're welcome.
