Wasn't the Barbarians the Rip off of the Road Warriors?

I liked the Road Warriors when I was kid no doubt they were entertaining and loved how they destroyed everyone in their paths.

But Demolition scared the h**l out of me as a kid because at the time they reminded me so much of the Rock group KISS .  They looked like Devils with the spikes, makeup, etc.. and that made them more exciting. As a kid I think you're more excited by stuff that scares the c**p out of you.

If I had to choose, I'd say I like the Road Warriors better. No particular reason, just the team that interested me more.

If they'd have been included, however, I'd have said the New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg Jesse James and Bad *** Billy Gunn!

Demolition was the WWF answer to the The Road Warriors.  Demolition didnt have the bodies like The Road Warriors or the in ring skill of the Warriors.  When the Road Warriors came to the WWF, they pretty much squashed Demolition.

The Roadwarriors..don't get me wrong, Demolition was a great tag team. But at the time Demolition debuted in the WWF a lot of people considered them a rip off of The Roadwarriors. I think they came into their own and had their own unique of grind and pound wrestling. But regardless I'll still go with The Roadwarriors.

Growing up in the 80's I had more exposure to Demolition then RW. RW would only be on tv from time to time. When I was a kid I would see WWF live and would completely mark out when ever I heard the following words..

Here comes the ax, here comes the smasher

We're demolition, walking disaster

Pain and destruction are our middle names

Search and destroy you, run and we'll find you

There's no place to hide, the demos will get you

Listen to me cause I'm Chubby G.  I like to eat and drop a beat.  What I will say should blow your mind because I'm the best and one of a kind.  The Roadwarriors were strong and the originators.  Demolition came along as cheap imitators.  They walked around in S & M gear, while The Roadwarriors just kicked a ss and instilled fear.  So who to pick from these two old school teams?  Animal and Hawk, who else would it be?
