  1. In March 1606 Willem Janszoon  and Jan Lodewijkszoon van Rosingeyn, on board the Duyfken, charted about 300 km of the west coast of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. It was the first authenticated landing on Australian soil.

    Cricket started in Australia in 1850s.

  2. Yes, the indigenous(aboriginals) did play cricket! In fact, the first team from Australia was Aboriginal & toured England in 1868.Nowadays they mainly go in for several codes of football, and we have had some very successful ones there. There are many Aboriginals still here, most of them choose to live in the outback where they are close to their original homelands etc, but a great majority living in cities do not assimilate well, apart from high profile ones who have made it in sport, music or business etc.We have some great aboriginal actors as wel.

  3. Captain James Cook discovered Australia in 1770. The indigenous inhabitants were the Aborigines, they are still here, No the original inhabitants did not play Cricket.

    Let me rephrase that, the original inhabitants did not play Cricket prior to the White Man arriving.
