  1. Christopher Columbus discovered the America. Obviously, he stop at Brazil because before he went back to the king of Spain to tell his findings, he stopped at Portugal and talked to the king there. The Portugal king went to Spain and said that if anything was found he would like a piece and offer some money. Spain king accepted. Each one would have half of.  He did not know what Christopher Columbus found, and the rest is history. That is the reason half of South America speak Spanish and the other half speak Portuguese. Now, who actually went to Brazil to explore was Pedro Alvarez Cabral, so history books said that he discovered Brazil.

  2. A complete nut!

  3. Pedro Alvarez Cabral.

  4. Actually it wasn't Pedro Álvares Cabral. When the Portuguese settled with the Spanish that they wanted more land in the Tordesilhas Treaty, it was obviously because they knew there was land in the present South America. And this was in 1494

  5. Pedro Álvares Cabral, a Portuguese, on April 21, 1500.
