Indeed, it was the Early Chinese settlers who brought the almighty balut to the Philippine shores. Who discovered it is a little harder to narrow down & pinpoint.

no one has made a claim on that matter.

it was by mistake that they cooked that petty premature ducklings; depriving its chance to see the world, LOL just to satisfy their growling stomach.

however there are claims of;  BALUT was unintentionally discovered, because of food shortage during the war times in our country. "least you see the whole idea" "can't wait for the chicken ,consume the eggs?

he once had so many  eggs that he can no longer sold it to the market that eventually the eggs had developed chicks that it came to his mind to simply boil the eggs, and lo! it became balut?
