Who discovered the body cells ?how and when?

I honestly don't know but I find it fascinating just looking at the make up of one single cell and also the process of mitosis. It never ceases to amaze me just how incredible it all is.

In 1665, Robert Hooke observed cork under microscopes and found tiny, hollow structures which he named "cells", as they reminded him of rooms that monks lived in.
