  1. The GMAT is created by the GMAC (graduate management admission council). "The Official Guide" is made by the GMAC and contains actual past GMAT questions- they do not offer classes, but the book is essential.

Companies such as Kaplan, Princeton Review, Veritas, Manhattan GMAT, offer study materials and classes. Some of these companies cater towards higher target scores (Veritas, Manhattan) while others are for those who need more refreshing (Princeton review). All these companies offer worthwhile resources, but none are a complete representation of what you will encounter on the real test, which uses a complex algorithm to score. The practice tests on MBA.com (also made by the GMAC) are a good representation of what the real test will be.

    Good luck!
