Just call 911. I did that and they got it all taken care of. The funny thing is, I hit a deer on the highway a year ago and it totaled my car. To help others from the piece of roadkill on the road, I did the responsible thing and ordered to get it picked up by the Sanitation thing. They fined me. I had to pay $85 to get somebody to pick up some dead c**p from the road!

The department of Sanitation, if the animal is dead.  At least, in my town, that's how it works.  Be sure to tell them that the animal is in the roadway.  If not, then they may not come and pick it up.  That is the key word.

Your state department of transportation highway maintenance crews are usually in charge of clearing all sorts of trash and dangerous hazards from public roads. What that state agency is called varies from state to state but they all have one--the same guys that cut the roadside grass. OR, if you now someone who has a use for the hide or caucus and you know the road kill is fresh (like you just hit it or saw it get hit) then you can call that person and tell them it's their lucky day.
