  1. A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.  For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check

Since the first round of direct deposits is done, it sounds likely that you'll be getting a paper check.

The other possibility is that you filed too late for your return to be processed by the 4/15 cutoff to make the first round of stimulus payments

  2. Have you received a notice stating a specific payment amount and date? If so, it should come within a week of that date, although you need to wait at least 4 weeks before the IRS can do anyting if it doesn't arrive.

If you have not received a notice, check the IRS web site to make sure you're qualified and for the payment schedule which is based on the last 2 digits of your Social Security number. If you have any questions, call 1-800-829-0582, extension 726 and try to get through.

  3. Nobody.  It will be mailed automatically. Eventually.
