I had a judgement against me from an apartment complex 4 years ago. They turned it over to collections I have paid if off in full. I received a letter fromthe collection agency stating it was been paid as well, however the judgement is still on my credit report. Who do I contact or how can I get it remeoved?

  1. Even if paid in full, judgments remain on credit reports for 7 to 7.5 years.  You cannot have it removed immediately.

If your credit report is showing it as unpaid, you should dispute that with the credit reporting agency (Experian, Trans Union, or Equifax) from which you obtained the credit report.  The credit report should have instructions.  You can always send a dispute by mail.  If they allow you to submit the dispute online or by telephone, that may be faster, and you will save postage.
