To make a long story, well - less long, I recently found out that part of a bill that I thought had been taken care of for a hospital visit was still owed by me. I found one Final Notice (no other previous bills, etc) and called to see if I still owed, which I did AND found out I was sent to collections for the first time in my life. I paid the bill but now I'd like to request that the company that made it appear as if my entire bill was paid for help me to recover my credit. I know my score must have dropped with being in collections for quite some time. Basically, how do I word this request? Who does the company need to contact in order to repair my credit score, if they are willing to help me?

  1. Here are some sample dispute letters that might help you. http://www.badcreditfixup.com/writing-cr...

  2. Send both the Hospital and the Collection Agency this letter modified to reflect your situation. It is called a "goodwill deletion" request.

If that doesn't work, just dispute everything online as "paid" and see if they answer the dispute. Since you paid it, they might not even bother answering.
