Question:

Who do I start as my RB2 in Week 1?

I have Westbrook who is a lock to start every week...

For my RB2 it gets interesting...

Ryan Grant vs Minnesota

Julius Jones @ Buffalo

Lendale White vs. Jacksonville

Chris Perry @ Baltimore

I'm inclined to start Grant, but I don't think he'll do very well... Ray Rice is also on the waiver wire. Should I pick him up and if I do, who do I drop, Perry or Jones?

Give me your reasoning as to why you feel the way you do.

  1. I would get Ray Rice, grant is going against best rush d in nfl,

Also if avaiable try to get Chris Johnson or Jonathan Stewart

  2. I would start grant until he proves to be a bust.  All of your other RB aren't very good. Rice could be a good sleeper pick but I wouldn't risk it this week.  I would pick him up anyway in case McGahee is out longer than expected.

    Start Grant this week.

  3. You go with Grant hands down regardless of match up against these other choices. Jones cannot and will not do much all season, White is in a RBBC and Perry will be sharing carries as a 3 headed monster until he has proven he can take the reins himself.

  4. i would drop jones and pick up rice because at some point he is going to take over for mcgahee.  morris is the starting back now in seattle even though jones will still get carries.  i would not start grant as minnesota is a tough match up.  rice will probable be your best option if you pick him up.  if not jones is probable your best option for this week.

  5. I agree that Grant may not be to good this week.  Ray Rice could be a good option.  I wouldn't go with Julius Jones as he is not starting.  Jax and Baltimore both have good run D.  So, I would either stick with Grant, or drop Jones and pick up Rice to start.  My 2 cents.

  6. Grant is in the better offense and has the better chance to score over L.white. Jacksonville D isn't exactly a cake walk either. I dont think either of them will put up alot of yards.  I'd drop Jones before Perry.

  7. I would go with Chris Perry here.

The Bungles dropped Rudi Johnson because Perry had an outstanding camp. Now that won't always translate to the regular season, but news is Watson was limited in practice this week so it should be mainly Perry and Dorsey for the Ravens game. With Flacco at QB and an iffy McGahee, I see a lot of chances for CIN and I see them wanting to control the clock in the second half. Perry is a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield too.

Grant is coming back off injury and has not been in camp so going against the best defense in the league doesn't look good for him. Plus I think GB will try to use Rodgers more to try and prove they were justified in letting Favre get traded.

Julius is not the starter and even against a weak Bills D, JJ has proven he's not always as motivated when he comes off the bench. Plus the RBBC is unproven at this point and Duckett may get the red zone and goal line carries.

White would be my next pick after Perry. He had solid numbers last year but the coach has already said that White will only get between 50-60% of the carries. TEN vs JAC is a hit or miss for one of the teams each time it seems like so I think Perry would be the safer choice this week at least.
