Who do I talk to in my community about starting a community garden?

I want to do it for my Eagle Scout Project but uh........yeah.

  1. The best solution to your problem is to direct a "lawns to gardens" project.


  2. good for you Scouting is a very wonderful organization to be involved in .For your question try your local town parks dept they may have some land available that is not doing anything and would be glad to let you use it also contact a local food bank maybe someone in the community has previously offered land for this purpose and no one has taken them up on it,contact a local church they may have a large enough parish grounds that would accommodate you keep us posted on your results  put me down as a Contacts

  3. Start by contacting The Federation of City Farms and Gardens, they have a starter pack (£6?) that helps you find a site, raise funds, get training and ensure you do it legally. They help people starting community gardens.
