My hubby has bipolar and leaves for boot camp in october. It was not disclosed, nor was it asked that he had that. So what do I do now?? I am concerned for his safety and the safety of others around him. He thinks this if fine, but also will do anything to enlist. So how do I tell? Can I do this anonymously? I feel like I am put in a real crappy position here. Thanks in advance for everyone's advice!!

  1. Talk to some one in this chain of command not the recruiter because they told him not to say any thing when he went down to MEPS so i dont think till do any thing GOOD LUCK

  2. Contact his recruiter

His recruiter had to ask if he had it

It is on list of conditions on the forms he had to fill out

If caught after he joins he will be charged with fraudulent enlistment

  3. He probably hasn't been to MEPS yet - that is where he will go right before shipping to boot camp for a physical, eye test, etc.  If he is on bipolar medication, it will show up in his blood test results.  Also, if he lies about his medical history, he is guilty of some sort of federal offense.  You could tell his recruiter, that would probably solve your problem, except for the anonymity part.

  4. Write it in a letter, mail it to the recruiter via certified mail, and keep a copy of it.  If they want to let him enlist anyway, that's their business, but if it comes out later and they try to charge him with a fraudulent enlistment, you will have the paperwork proving that you informed the recruiter prior to the enlistment.

  5. instead of trying to sabotage your husband why don't you just sit him down and talk to him about it.

  6. Talk to any recruiter.  You might get him in big trouble if he failed to disclose this before he went in, but most recruiters are pretty good "people" and will probably give you advice on what to do if not at least some options.

Speak in hypothetical and don't admit anything.  "I have a friend..."
