  1. Well. You should only have one. I recommend switching off Windows Firewall and leaving your one on. Any Anti-virus program or security software probably includes one - so look about their settings for info.

Start - Control Panel - Security Centre - Firewall

Under Firewall. It will say which Firewall you are currently using. For example mine says ESET personal firewall is currently on. This will tell you what firewall your computer is currently using. You can then find that program and switch it off there.

To switch off Windows Firewall click the button that says Windows Firewall and select Off (not recommended).

I hope this has helped. If you're using ESET Smart Security - right click the icon and click Do not filter network traffic.

By the way. If it says you are using a different firewall from Window's - try and just switch Windows off, then connect to the internet. If that still fails...switch off the one it says you're using.

Hope that clears things up for you! :)

    Additional:

Click the Windows Firewall link underneath 'Manage security settings for...' (at the bottom) on the Windows Security Centre bit.

  2. ALL? you should only have one, more than one creates a conflict that could shut you down big time, use one and only one!!

  3. Start > Control Panel > Security Centre > Firewall 'Off'.

    You only need one firewall.
