so i want to know who can i ask who can tell me what is happening about global warming. cause if you ask the media they give you a mixed, butchered, and screened answer, so they are not any help. So is their a government guy or scientist who could tell me..... how bad it is, what is being done to fix it, and is it normal or have we done it? Please and Thank you.

  1. AL Gore ! He invented the internet too.

  2. Don't ask Al Gore... He has no idea!

  3. You need to listen to Rush Limbaugh, he has the skinny. Basically, you have a bunch of people who were paid by liberals to say, "Americans are causing Global Warming," Not any other country but just Americans and we as Americans should suffer the consequences because other countries, well they just don't know any better. Then you have some people say, "Wait a minute, we have evidence that the earth has done this type of activity warming or whatever before, probably before humans inhabited the planet." So maybe them pesky humans aren't really the cause at all. Maybe by trying to make some drastic change we actually end up creating a bigger mess then if we let things NATURALLY occur. Oh wait I forgot one thing, maybe humans aren't part of the natural balance on the earth. Humans not natural,  hmmmmmm where did we come from then I wonder? I'll have to ask that question.

  4. I hope you take Bob and JS seriously and ignore the answers of people who apparently don't think reading what actual scientists say about a scientific theory is needed to understand it. You could listen to an uneducated entertainer like Rush Limbaugh or you could read what the greatest scientific minds in the world have written about the subject (the FAQ link is a good introduction):

If you're not very scientifically inclined, the link below provides a decent introduction to the subject in a fairly easy to read manner:

Voice of reason - using a 15 year old climate report to support your position doesn't sound very "reasonable" to me.  A lot has been learned since than and CO2 is clearly the primary driving force.

  5. Try thousands of scientists from all over the world.  Here's some of their work, which won the Nobel Prize.

EDIT - Or you could listen to Rush Limbaugh instead.  I don't really know a better argument against the deniers than proposing that idea.

SHAPESHIFTER - The reason I don't explain it in my own words, is that the experts know even more, and the database is HUGE.  To complain that people are posting science is strange, although I understand that argument coming from a denier, since the science clearly shows global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

  6. No one.  Figure it out for yourself.

I hate how the proponents often copy and past quotes from scientists, or tons and tons of links.  What, you cant explain it in your own words?

To me, refering to the IPCC website to support global warming is like trying to refute evolution with the bible.

no bob, you post quotes that make it clear what the agenda of that scientist is.  The quotes are those scientists opinion, and scientists are people like you and me, they stand for things they believe in.  Why do quotes by scientists who try to refute global warming not count?  Why only YOUR scientists?  See, like I said, its like trying to prove creationism using the bible.

  7. What if the answer you seek actually contains bull as a source of global warming? (bull excrement, that is)

  8. The progression in scientific understanding is explained in detail by a physicist/historian on this site:

    Impacts of Global Warming

    http://www.aip.org/history/climate/impac...

    The Discovery of Global Warming

The author SPENCER R. WEART is Director of the Center for History of Physics of the American Institute of Physics (AIP) in College Park, Maryland, USA.  If your questions are not answered in detail by his site, you may contact him at the email address posted with his bio:

His own informed conclusions regarding global warming are posted here:

Here are summaries of some of their latest research into carbon cycle science and what to do to mitigate the damage, which is being conducted across more than a dozen federal agencies:

  9. You’ll have to read real science books and figure it out for yourself. The media and most info on the internet is totally biased. Legitimate criticism of anthropogenic global warming is suppressed, while sensationalist propaganda is what makes the headlines. Anyone from Hollywood or politics has an ulterior motive, so they cannot be trusted. In your research keep asking this one question: What do the writers of the materials have to gain from global warming? If the answer is power, control, legislation, a special interest agenda, or money, look elsewhere.

What I can tell you though is: 1) it’s not as bad as it’s portrayed, and 2) CO2 is not the cause.
