Who do the israel army fight?

why are conscripted into the army? do theyfight against palestine? who is right in this fight?

They fight civilians and occassionally people that are armed with small weapons.  I don't know, a bunch of Jews from Europe "immigrated" to the Middle East, declared the land as theirs, and then kicked out about three quarters of a million of the original inhabitants of historic Palestine.  Those they didn't kick out either live in Israel with fewer rights than its Jewish citizens, or they live inside of ethnic prisons created by Israel on the West Bank and Gaza.  

To be sure there is more nuance to it than this and alot of people will try to dress up what Israel has done over the past 50 years as legitimate acts of war, but when you get down to the facts the continuous war there is nothing more than European colonialism - Europeans making war on the original inhabitants of the land.

1)  For the same reason many European countries do.  They're a small country and need everyone they can get.

2)  There is no country of Palestine, there never was.  They fight against Palestinian militants, the odd Palestinian civilian that gets in the way, and have fought every Arab country that surrounds them at one point or another after being attacked...and beat the c**p out of them.

3)  Who's right?  d**n if I know.  Isreal was a country back before even the Babylonians and every other country came through and laid claim to the region.  It wasn't until after WW2 (1948) that Isreal as a nation existed again and only after they fought Great Britan using guirilla/terrorist tactics.  After that just about ever western nation acknowledged them as a soveriegn state.  There was no such thing as a "Palestinian" until then.  Jews and Palestinians have always been in that region.  

What I find odd is that no Arab country around them will really support the Palastinians other then to supply them with small arms.  The Seven Day War and other wars against Isreal weren't meant to help or support them it was just to meant to wipe Isreal off the map once and for all.  I can understand why Isreal would react the way they do after all the times they've been attacked, doesn't mean I support them, I can just understand.

All Jewish Israelis, with a few exceptions for religious reasons, are conscripted into the army.  It's a way of indoctrinating the young as well as providing bodies for having a strong army to make war.  Some Israelis who refused to commit the crime of enforcing an illegal (i.e. against UN resolutions and with many violations of human rights) occupation have been indicted and sent to jail.    

Palestine is right, Israel wrong.  Neither party is completely without fault, however, Israel was founded by a group of people known as Zionists who had a clear and long premeditated intent to take over the whole area, then known as Palestine, from the native inhabitants.  To do so, they committed numerous intentional acts of massacre of the Palestinians, in order to take their land away and scare the rest into leaving.  Palestinians have committed a few atrocities as well (on the order of 1/10 the number committed by Israelis), mostly in response to Israeli murders, i.e., for vengeance.  Israel is the only nation founded since the breakup of the European empires on the premise of ethnic cleansing - legally equivalant to genocide tho generally considered smaller in scope - the existence of Israel is based on genocide.

The Jewish religion is more than 5 thousand years old Christianty is over 2000 years old the enemy of Israel say they have invaded Palestine but Jews were infact there first Jesus was a Jew.  The Arabs were always there but were not Muslims as  the Muslim religion did not start until approx.630 ad and they was just nomad tribes before.

Jews still lived in the region when it was under Turkish rule. the name of Palestine was very rarly used the southern part of Israel was occupied by the Philistines in biblical times.

no one is right its all about greed and who gets to control and reap the benefits of land. its been millenia old tradition that man wants control over land to reap the benfits himself.

the west are doing it with oil rich countries at the mo.

now if they really wanted the palastinians and israelies could live peacefully together. but they both want to claim the same land as their own and refuse to cooperate with each other. one wants jewish law and the other islamic law and neither wishes to live in a democracy that could take into consideration both religious laws.

Look you opened a question that has been going on for years without solution. It's very debatable. In short, Arabs see Israel fighting to gain more land of "Palastine" and to invade more arab land. Israelis however, see it as kicking out terrorists and ensuring safety of their home. No one can really know who's more right than the other but you need to read about history and decide for yourself.
