nothing.......hes an unrestricted free agent. he can sign with any team he wants. as of july 1 the leafs have no rights to him.

if your asking who will they get to replace him thats a different question..

but I just read in the paper Sundin has been talking to the Rangers and wants to be there

to guy below me....the leafs would be given compensation if he went to montreal because the leafs gave them permission to talk to him before july 1st, thus having an advantage on all other teams who are interested.

Should Montreal sign Sundin, Toronto will get a pair of draft picks from Montreal.  The deal has already been agreed to.  However, there is still a possibility that Sundin may retire (which is what scared off the Rangers) and Fletcher doesn't want to make enemies.
