I'm a Kangaroos supporter and I can't go passed Wayne Carey!!!

I know he did a bad thing with his wife and all ,but if that fiasco did not occur people would be making a whole more fuss about him.

He was the best in my eyes and people have forgotten it.

Based just on football - Wayne Carey.

The greatest player I ever saw.  Was able to turn matches by his skills, size and strength.

Had the ability to lead him team and I'm sure have the opposition fearing him.

Bear in mind that he would take 2 or 3 players playing on him and still kick a few goals allowing North's other players to have much more freedom - I think it was the best.

My two cents.....

If you were judging this as an all round decent person - I would change my vote to James Hird.  Great player (not as good as Carey but) and I think an honest, decent bloke!

The best I've seen is Gary Ablett snr. Other notables are: James Hird, Wayne Carey, Kevin Bartlett, Polly Farmer, Leigh Matthews. There will probably be as many "Best Players" as there are respondents.

Don't just go for a player that plays for the team you support I'm a Carlton supporter and i think it is Leigh Matthews he won the Coleman medal as a rover If you don't  know what the Coleman medal is its the medal for leading goal kicker at the end of the season and if u don't know what a rover is he is the guy who usually gets the most touches and plays in the middle of the ground for all you idiots
