  1. The Floyd Mayweather answers want to make me puke.

Here you got a guy who was always careful in picking his opponents. His team was very good at watching videos of fighters and finding out what fighters style best fit Floyds.

Usually it was strong but slow fighters who fought strait up and did not present angles. Back in 2000 Zab Judah was calling out Floyd on a regular basis but Floyd always turned down a fight with Judah. It wasn't until Judah got knocked out by Tszyu and out boxed by Cory Spinks did Mayweather agree to fight him.

The biggest risk he took was DeLaHoya and only because he was going to get 20 million dollars to do so. And as you could see from the fight Oscar held back.

Then he fought little Ricky Hatton a good puncher but a smaller guy.

Then when Mayweather is at his peak he retires to avoid Miguel Cotto or Margarito or Shane Mosley all of whom had been calling him out.

Mayweather was impressive, But you cant hand pick opponents and dodge all the dangerous opponents and retire like a coward.

Best boxers of all time Mayweather does not even make the top 10. He never proved he had heart. Something all the other guys on the list did. A true champion cleans up his division then retires not fight the lower tier guys avoid the top guys, fight a business man then retire, that isn't great, that isn't even good.

Best pure boxer of all time is Sugar Ray Robinson/Roy Jones Jr. Ill give it to Sugar over Roy because Robinson had way more fights and more longevity then Roy appears to have.

  2. Floyd Mayweather. Hes the best fighter in the world.

  3. Ray Robinson

  4. It is obvious that many people who answered you are kids....most historians and boxers agree that the best ever was sugar ray robinson, he has a very impressive record and wins over many all time greats, his skills and technique were amazing, he had a granite chin and the power to boot and he had one of the best foot works in boxing....it's hard to make a case against him when you look at all of his accomplishments, he was so good that they had to create pound for pound rankings.......in my lifetime the best fighter i have ever seen would be.....ummm.....probably roy jones jr, in his prime he was practically invincible and completely dominated his division, he won titles from middleweight all the way to heavyweight and he made elite fighters look like amateurs, his style was unorthodox and at any given moment he could switch from a slick out fighter to a vicious in fighter, his hand speed was super human and his reflexes rivaled those of marvel super heores like spider man (seriously that guy was that good) he is the kind of fighter that comes across once every fifty years or so. There are many greats in boxing but these two stand out the most when you compare records and styles.

  5. in my opinion it would be oscar de la hoya and lennox lewis

  6. There can be only 1...Sugar Ray Robinson

  7. sugar ray robinson is the greatest fighter of all time,

the people who said mayweather no NOTHING about boxing and its history, ignore them,

  8. HUMBERTO SOTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. at first i just wanted to see what every body else had to say but after reading "RUDDIGER" answer i must way in.first of all i was not around to see sugar fight but from what i ve heard(and clips ive seen) he had to be great.ok so i know yall know a but is coming well here it is "but" he fought at a time when boxing was more a sport and not a buisness.that brings me to floyd(the greatest boxer i have seen)

he said floyd ducked zab in 2000...how? floyd was a super feathweight and zab was a junior welterweight. why would he call out the smaller fighter. anyway moving on... yes maybe oscar was his biggest risk and yes oscar did hold back but only because he didnt want to get embarrassed. floyds a h**l of a counter puncher he makes most(if not all)of his opponents hold back.shane ducked floyd first.....matter fact we wont even go down that road....just know floyd called out fighters when he was younger but couldnt get the fight because he didnt have the credibility yet(funny how things work when the shoe is on the other foot)as far as marrgo he took the fight with baldmir instead(for that same 8mil)because baldamir had more belts....is marggo a better fighter then baldamir?..maybe but hindsight is always 20/20.it also has something to do with who marggo promoter is(i explained that on another theard)i just find it funny how after every fight he wins people start to downplay it like he beat zab...welll zab aint that good.....or he beat hatton.....hatton was to small....he beat baldamir.....baldamir to slow etc etc etc  the point is you can find something to discredit anybody in anything if you dont like them...just human nature

then i saw the name roy jones(i am a rjj fan)but he ducked hopkins for years.and roy never had the total pkg floyd has because of the defense. roy only relied on reflexs(not blocking)to counter, which he started losing as he got older

getting tired of typin now so that brings us back to the bussiness side. floyd wants to fight champions with belts and get $$$$$$ for it and not end up like sugar ray robinson and other fighters who had to keep fighting for $$$$$ you guys say he fought for the love its probably more like he needed the $$$$(not taking anything away from his greatness)

alot of these great fighters you guys name didnt really fight alot of great fighters either, they just fought the same great fighters alot of times

its hard to compare old school to this era(of any kind of sports period)alot of times its the promoter who tells you who to fight. if your talkin about styles though floyd has to have one of the best.and in my opinon the best

sorry so long i get carried away sometimes

  10. Ray Robinson.

    M Haggler.

    R Jones JR.

    Floyd Maywearther.

    S Sanchez

    R Duran

    M Ali

no order..just great fighters.  Barrera was good like Sanchez he would box

    as some times its needed

  11. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Come on guys, he beat three future hall of famers, namely; Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez. This guy right now is only 29 and he had accomplished so many feat already. If he knock out ODLH, Hatton, Guzman and boxers that are in their prime today, he will be the best boxer of all-time. Also, not mentioning, all of his loses are fluke and he was not kilter especially being overweight. Pacquiao has the fastest speed and foot speed of all-time (Robinson is not even close). His left could knock out a super welterweight.

Pacquiao is the greatest boxer of all-time because in this modern day world we lived in, myriad people has incredible talent and gifted not like in the past. I'm not saying, the past boxer is not that good, my point is, if you put the past boxer today, they would be obliterated by boxers today who have evolve the boxing to another level.

  12. That is a tough question. I would have to say Sugar Ray Robinson with Aaron Pryor a distant 2nd and Mayweather 3rd. But the most physically gifted is Roy Jones.

  13. I'd have to go with the late Salvador Sanchez.  Even though he only lived until he was 24, he had every tool needed to succeed in boxing.

Sugar Ray Robinson is also an ATG.

  14. Bernard Hopkins and Arturo Gatti are my favorites but "pretty boy" Floyd Mayweather is the best ever

  15. Roy Jones Jr.with out any question

  16. The best, on records would probably go to the likes of marciano (never beat) mayweather (never beat) calzaghe (never beat)

but honestly probably the likes of ali, tyson, de la hoya, barrera, mayweather, roy jones, hopkins all rate up there.

for entertainment then definately gatti, hatton, benn. the powerful fighters that can also be knocked out are the most exciting because you never know which way it could go. have to say castillo vs corales number 1 was my favourite fight of all time aswell. When boxing matches are like that then its the best sport to watch by a mile.

  17. I would say it's between, Robinson, Mayweather, Ali.  For those that don't like to hear Mayweather, if you really were boxing fans you admit, maybe you don't like his style or his personality,  but his mix of defense and boxing skills is probably the best ever. Besides Roy Jones, I've never seen someone so dominant in every weight class he's been in.  He's a blown up lightweight that, IMO would beat anyone from 154lbs down.  20 championship fights with out a loss, granted Robinson had more, but back then, they fought more........
