  1. Edwin Valero (still to this day noone has gone the distance with him).

Joan Guzman, has been a guarded fighter by his handlers, but I think that he has tremendous defensive skill and very underrated power.

It would be interesting to see how he would handle the size difference of guys like Casamayor and Nate Campbell.

PAC is gonna walk right through David Diaz in his next fight.

I want to see him fight someone that is typically a volume puncher like Katsidis or Juan Diaz.

  2. David Diaz (WBC Lightweight Champ) could shock the world as he shows that a 4-Division champion shouldn't move up to a 5th division.  Diaz is one tough hombre, and could be just a bit too big for Pacquiao.

It'll be a great fight, one way or another.  And I didn't say Diaz will win. . .but you asked who COULD. . .and right now, at lightweight. . . I think only David Diaz could.

  3. everyone seems to be on either the Valero bandwagon (who has yet to fight a A level fighter) or the Casamayor bandwagon (who just beat an unproven Katsidis)..

I don't think there is anyone in the division right now that could literally KO Pacquiao.. of course the two mentioned fighters above could probably KO Pacquiao but they won't because Pacquiao has improved his defense tremendously and he has a proven good chin. If anything, could probably only lose to someone like Hatton or a Mayweather, who is basically too big for Pacquiao.

  4. Casamayor could give him troubles, David Diaz has a good punchers chance, as for Juan Diaz? i think he should just stay in community college and save his brains from the likes of a David Diaz and especially a Pacquioa.

Juan Diaz is a part time boxer, meaning his heart is in something else.(education) Those fighters dont usually have long careers. They are not willing to risk their lives to win because they have something else they can fall back too if Boxing dont work out. Desperate men have more success

  5. If he fought Frank Dux when he was in his Prime, Frank would probably wipe the floor with him, he fought hundreds of matches and retired undefeated as a full contact kumite champion!

  6. Juan Diaz. I know he lost to Nate Campbell but he has the right style and the cumulative punches that could get the job done. Also he is a more natural lightweight as he has been at that division for years. I think they fight very similarly and it would be a heck of a fight but in the end I think Diaz's punches would have the more brutal effect and stop Manny in the later rounds.

  7. The true lightweight champion, Joel Casamayor has a good chance if he could catch him flush like he did with Michael Katsidis and knock him out.  I think thats one of the reasons why Bob Arum does not want to match him with Casamayor, because he knows that Joel is still crafty and strong enough to give Pacman problems.  I also think that Nate Campbell has a good chance because of the way that he was able to beat Juan Diaz.  Pacquiao, like Diaz, is a pressure fighter, and when you back up a pressure fighter they don't like it and cannot deal with it, like when Campbell was able to beat Diaz.  Campbell could put enough pressure on Pacman to make him wilt because Nate can bang and he has a relentless body attack despite the fact that he is 36 years old (same age as the champ, Casamayor).  As for the David Diaz fight, I see this as a safe way of getting Pacman a paper title at lightweight.  I don't think that Diaz brings enough skill to give Pacman any significant problems.  I think Pacman is too fast, strong, and relentless for Diaz and I think he will beat him relatively easy.  Remember that I am only speculating because for all I know Pacman could lose to Diaz, or beat Casamayor and Campbell.  There have been a lot of upsets lately in the lightweight division and the older, craftier fighters (Casamayor and Campbell) have shown the younger fighters (Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis) what its like to be in the ring with someone as experienced and skilled as them.

Edit: thumbs up to Greg S.  I forgot all about Joan Guzman.  I would definately give Guzman a great chance of beating Pacman, and I would actually favor him to win.  I do not think that he would knock Pacquiao out, but he sure as h**l would not make it a boring fight.  I think that he would use his good defense and movement to make Pacquiao uncomfortable like he did with Humberto Soto, and I think he would land enough clean punches to win a decision.

  8. rytnow i would say valero, he fights like pacman, a very risky fighter,he gives all his strength and power for the first 3 rnds that gives audiences an idea how monster he is when his opponent fights him toe to toe.

  9. I don't know about knocking him out, but I believe Juan Diaz could beat Pacquiao. Now as for possibly being able to knock Pacquiao out, I think Joel Casamayor could pull it off. Casamayor is still a threat at 135.
