  1. I have to go along with Bob. I had Bernardini to beat Barbaro in last years Preakness and if I was going to pick a true upsetter it would be King of the Roxy. I bet him in his first start of the year and he comes into the race fresh and fit.

  2. hard spun has a shot to shake loose on the lead and d. wayne lukas has a horse running ridden by garret gomez...has a out-side chance.....

  3. I think it's going to be hard to beat Street Sense in the Preakness but if I had to pick a horse to do it I would say Circular Quay.  I will also be adding Curlin to round out my trifecta.

  4. If a longshot wins, it will probably be either Flying first class, or Xchanger.  Both are coming off sharp wins, with Xchanger winning at this track already, and Flying first class was actually favored over Curlin the first time they met.  Not to mention they are both fresh horses.  Good luck.

  5. I like Street Sense and Hard Spun...  I think they'll definately be in the money.  Curlin, Circular Quay, and King of the Roxy all have a really good shot at rounding out the superfecta.  For a really truly longshot pick, I'd go with Xchanger...  he looked excellent in his last race and he's going to be a lot fresher than the 4 who ran the Derby.

  6. circulat quay

  7. I like Curlin but as a curveball to everyone's opinion here, why not C.P. West?  This horse has shown it can finish strong and its natural style is stalker-pace.  I feel Street Sense and Hard Spun will be coming down the strecth, but if a duel were to develop, then an outside horse being C.P. West can upset the Preakness.

  8. hard spun might be tough at this shorter distance and with less real speed in the race, Curlin cant finish any better than third the way I see it and Street Sense cant finish any worse than third... that makes the trifecta bets and superfecta bets a little iffy in a 9 horse race...probably take what looks like the top 3 horses who didnt run in the derby but are coming up to a good effort, to the Derby 3 in second, to the best 4 closers in third and play the trifecas 5 or 10 times, then play the Derby 3, to the 4 best closers, to the derby 3 to the field (all) a few times in the superfecta... maybe to play all/street sense/all/curlin@hard spun in superfectas also...

  9. Street Sense is the most likely winner. Hard Spun, Curlin and Circular Quay are other strong contenders.

The live longshot is King of the Roxy. His Santa Anita race was much better than it looked if you consider ground loss - he was 4-wide around both turns. I have his adjusted figure as good as any except for Street Sense and he will be in my exotic bets.

  10. Look for Curlin to fire big and hope Street Sense regresses a bit. He was racing on his favorite track. Pimlico has tight turns and he may not take as well. That being said I think he's a monster with a good chance at the Triple Crown. For value, play Curlin on top of the five longshots and hope for the best.

For a straight win bet, I agree with King of the Roxy. Numbers are decent.
