Everyone is pointing the finger at the president. I am one of those people. The thing i wonder though is, did the president really do all this damage on his own? It seems like an aweful lot of damage for one man to do? So who really is to blame? Give me specific reasons as to why you believe this.

  1. the economy slowing down because poeple have been spending less that ammounts to trillions of dollars the president does not controll that it indivisual americans who on a daily basis decide no to buy things from the store that ammounts to alot of money

  2. All Republicans are to blame.

It happens every time there's a 2-term Republican president.

Amazingly enough, the Dems manage to get it amost fixed during THEIR term.

  3. You already know ...........

  4. you cant blame the government or the president for the recession but you are allowed to blame them for not handling it properly.

Oil prices and other factors lead to this but you cant necessarily blame the government...its the way they handle that matters the most.

  5. The neocons.  Because they have an agenda and it's making as much money for themselves as possible and the h**l with everyone else.

And we were stupid enough to let it happen

  6. This question assumes that the economy is failing?  Do you have any actual facts to support that assertion?  Read the "Greatest Story Never Told."    Perception is not reality.  Assuming that a dog's tail is a leg does not make it such.

We are not in a recission for not even one quarter has be a down turn let alone two.

So before you assume that the world will end tonight --- seek some facts.

  7. Drew:

A good start, would be the banking industry, hence a runaway financing rampage. Of which, hundreds of mortgage related institutions loss billions of dollars, both domestic & foreign.

Who is in charge of this industry, the federal regulators, and who

do they answer too ?  The BUCK stops here.

As for the stock market, ALL pump & pious B.S., entering  lower

then usual market losses, dow 12,000. Don't count on this to stop,

only the pumpers are making any money, sales are moving lower still. Every government agency, Federal, State, Local, is OUT of control. And looking for more tax money, of which they NOW cannot meet, their own pensions, most are bankrupt, or going into it. They have borrowed to the maximum hilt, via bonds & the like. Defaults will become the norm. The country is becoming a police state,  protecting the very same people, who are the real

fault, healthcare is out of reach for the vast marjority. Need I say more. ??????????

  8. You are correct. Bush could not make this mess without a lot of help. And we think our policy makers are smart. These are

a bunch of grown up brats who are wealthy to begin with. I

assume it has to be the I am a US Senator. And the fact they can ruin someone with a quick phone call. We should have had a Solar package. But Reagan, got rid of the tax break on

consumers, while he was in office. Wind turbines are still a great idea. Bush should have left Iraq alone. But we are there

and have got to see it through. And so it goes. A really fine

    and intelligent question. Thanks

  9. There is equal blame to go around. And, in the end most of it rests with ourselves.

We the people, of the United States of America, in order to form a more stupider union did:

    - moved to the further out suburbs and exurbs to buy Mcmansions. Thus when the price of oil rose like economists and environmentalists had been saying for a decade... we were stuck.

    - took out confusing and bloated loans, to live in ugly bloated developments in bloated and bland exurbs that we could not afford.

    - did not read our loans and assumed the Bankers, BUSINESSMEN NO BETTER OR WORSE THAN USED CAR SALESMEN, were watching out for our best interests

    - let Rush Limbaugh and the right wing hijack our thought process and analytical skills, so while big business has been nickling and diming us out for years, instead of fighting back, we made sure g**s could not marry.

    - let big business and the television tell us that internet, cell phones, a car for every adult and fast food on the spot was not just a luxury, it was even more than a right.  More like a need.

  10. Weather and government.

  11. It's our own fault  cuz we depend on everything that's foreign.

  12. The people we vote into office beside the President. Machine parts have to run as one in conjuction with each other to work correctly.  Start puttin in parts that change the way things are suppose to run causes the system to fail. When you spring a leak, it must be repaired.  All the Congressmen and Representatives need to be held accountable.  The public is the gas tank, our money is the gas and the government is the engine using our money to run the country.  Ouir gas is more expensive that gasoline to run our car but we all yell about gas to run our car?????? I hear a loud knock in the governmental engine when it comes to idiots spending public money for things that only keep them in office rather than the good of the country.  We need a complete publication of all their records and what they voted for and we need it now.  It's time for accountability not B.S. like we normally get.

  13. Obviously you cannot just blame the President. There are many different reasons our economy is failing. The rise of China's economy is diminishing our own as even though their economy is booming they are keeping their currency at a fixed rate don't obey global currency inflation. Therefore their currency is always worth slightly less than the American dollar, thus American companies outsource. Of course it isn't just China, but they are a good example.

In short, we are circulating more money outside of our nation (like in Iraq and outsourcing on goods) than inside American industries.

I do agree that he took a huge toll on our economy though.

  14. Well bush is a member of the skull and bones which are  freemason overlords if you will and they are to blame for everybit of the bad thats going on in this nation as well as all over the hole world.. Theres plenty of imformation out there to support this, you just need a will to learn. Bush is just the cover sheet for all these clubs...Hope this helps

  15. it is the President who has well paid advisers and analyst and watchdogs to let him know how things are going, and what is coming ahead~!!!

that is when he is supposed to get together with his well paid staff and pass laws and straighten things out to keep things running smoothly~!!!

these fools went secret on us, worked against us, and treated us as lowly ignorant peasants,

    who have no say-so what-so-ever~!!!

they were never working for US~!!!

  16. WE did it to ourselves, running up debt to buy things we don't even use a week later, wanting a lot for nothing, buying it all on credit that we can't pay.  With the housing bubble, people should have read the fine print before they signed contracts they couldn't fulfill.  That's not the president's fault -- but doesn't it always feel better to blame someone else?
