  1. All over, the changing seasons mean at any time we can be importing from a different place in the world. Also, certain crops are not able to be grown very well in the continental US climate. Here is a list of countries we import meat products from:

  3. because it is cheaper sometimes.  many third world countries can produce food cheaper because they have a large and cheap labor supply. chemicals and pesticides that have been banned in the united states for 30 years are still availiable and cheap in many countries such as mexico, china and south america. child labor laws are virtually non existent in many other countries and child labor can be used to reduce their labor costs.

  4. China for one, remember the scares when many of their products began to contain poisons?  

    But there are many other countries. Mexico is the most significant..  

    When it is winter in the US, certain crops that are grown here are imported to keep them available year round.

    Although we can grow enough food here for everyone, people desire foods from all around the world and in support of variety and consistent availability, we import certain products.
