I am asking less for whom you believe is most important to YOU, but to all of humanity, through influence, ideas, impact, et cetera. Of course, more interestingly, I am also interested in why you have chosen this specific figure.

  1. Not easy to say, but perhaps the person who invented writing? When you think about it, the concept must have been breathtaking - to be able to communicate with someone without actually speaking to them.

and so literature was born. Another favourite is the person who invented the wheel. Just think where we would have been without the wheel. Not just for transport, of course, but as parts in machinery.

Poetry, music etc are also vastly important, but one cannot say that anyone actually invented it, since it is inherent in at least some people, perhaps most.

No, it must be the first writer and the wheels person for me. Closely followed by   the first who dared to use a vessel on water, whether it was a log, or a raft or whatever.

    What courage!

All the famous people from history could not have achieved what they did without these three pioneers.

  2. Gutenberg, - the democratisation of the written language without the printing press we'd probably be still living in medieval autocratic theocracies.

  3. the guy who invented the wheel.it all led on from that genius.
