  1. Favre himself

The management didnt't tell him to come back, so they built their gameplan around Rodgers and Favre decides to come back after they obviously moved on, it was Favre's decision not the management, but since they did move on they had to let him go to another team, if he hadn't of came back none of this would have ever happened so obviously it's all his fault.

    100% Favre's fault

  2. It was Brett Favre's own fault. He should have been prepared for this when he decided to unretire.

  3. Brett Favre. Him and his huge ego retired, but thought they could come back with no questions or answers. I thought Brett wasn't a cocky person, but after watching his press conferences and interviews I see him in a whole new light. It would have been selfish and rude of management to just drop Rodgers after they told him he was the starter. And I find it very selfish of Brett to even make the organization choose between him and Rodgers.

  4. Favre's fault.  He forced the Packers Organization into the tough decision and then he cried to the media when they chose A Rod instead of the legendary Favre.  If he still wanted to play, he shouldn't have retired.  Simple as that.  But then he changed his mind and expected the Packers to drop everything they were doing and welcome him back.  Thats pretty selfish and unlike Favre.  Then when he actually gets re-instated back into the league and had that long talk with the Packers, he didn't seem to want to suck it up and let things go, I believe that is why they traded him.  If he would of just said, "I'm sorry about the things I said and I'm ready to move on and complete for this job" he would of been right in there with Rodgers again.  But he was too stubborn so he's gone.  100% Favre's fault.

  5. I think it is Favre's fault.  All that management wanted was a straight answer out of him in March when they asked him.  Once again, he waffled and put them in a bind.  They actually drafted another QB in the 2nd round because they assumed Favre would be gone.

  6. Favre himself

  7. I blame both of them.  Favre for retiring before he was ready to retire, and management for not welcoming him back even though he was still legally under contract with the team.

Favre started it by retiring knowing full well he might still want to come play.  Management is also to blame because they willingly signed Favre to a contract that was longer than they planned on keeping him.  If management wanted to move on after Favre was 38, they should have only signed him through the '07-'08 season.  No one forced GB management to sign Favre through '09-'10 - that was their choice/mistake.

  8. neither is to blame.  It was time for both favre and management  to move on with their future.  Management got what they wanted, and favre got what he should want, which is to say, play football.  :)

  9. Once you retire you shouldn't expect to be welcomed back after you've been replaced!

Can you imagine retiring from work and asking to come back to your same job after a few months have passed, they would just laugh at you.

Speaking of laughing, did you see that Brett's arm is hurting him now?

How funny would it be if he can't play after the Jets already got rid of Pennington!

  10. Favre himself. As the others said, when Favre retired the Packers made a gameplan around Rodgers, one they thought was pretty strong. Favre just thought that they would accept him back. But it wasn't completely out of the blue, during his farewell speech he said something along the lines of "If I ever decide to come back, I hope there will be a spot for me on the Packers," which to me just shouted HE'S COMING BACK!

  11. Brett Favre, the Packers wanted him until he left, then they saw Aaron Rodgers play very well, so they thought we already taught him the plays and he is good, so if he didnt leave he would still be starter.

  12. This is coming straight from a huge Packers fan and a member of a management team. You can't blame anyone but Favre. When Favre said he was retiring then management had to make decisions based on that for their future. They made a commitment to Rodgers as Favre had made one to retiring. You can't just excpect "Hey, I'm Favre so of course they will want me back". I am somewhat suspecious of Favre myself anyway. I know a while back he wanted to be traded and the Packers wouldn't do it. I think that maybe the whole retiring thing was just a way for him to try and gt out of his contract.

  13. All of the above.  Favre turned out to be a diva that held the team hostage to his whims over the last several years.  Packer management decided to stand up to him, but made the mistake of doing dumb stunts in the press.  (Ted Thompson not taking Favre's calls because he was on "vacation.")  Now Favre is starting to show his true nature in a media intensive market like New York.  ("My arm is tired." WTF?)  Green Bay was too small for people to see him act a fool.  New York may regret Brett the Jet.
