Who do you consider to be the best chessplayer of all time, Fischer or Kasparov?

  1. Hard to say, if Fischer would have contenued to play I believe he very well may have become the greatest; however, do to the higher rating and the number of championships the greatest of this century has to be Kasparov.

    However, one could argue that Morphy was the greatest chess player in relation to his time period as he gained about 84 points out of every 100 game(while often playing down a piece from the start in order to make games more fair), Fischer had about 73, while Kasparov had about 69.


  2. Kasparov.  Higher elo rating and he held it for a much longer time.

    No offence, but Fischer basically "wimped out".  He took his chess board, went home, and wouldn't play any more.
