this woman baby sits a 2yr old, 5yr old, 3 preschool age children, sometimes: an almost 2yr old, a 5yr old, & another almost 2yr old, and she's planning on adding two more kids. I know for sure that is over the limit. and she does this out of her home, and is NOT licensed. who do i contact...the borough or township where she resides? I'm not a tattle tale, I know for a fact that there is no way she can decently take care of all those kids. thanks.

  1. You would need to call your local child care information services.  I know that in ontario you are only allowed to take care of 5 children on your own.  I would call and find out from them exactly who to contact.  don't worry about being a tattle tale as the children are what is most important.

  2. The Dept. of Public Welfare regulates Day Care in your state. Look in the phone book or on line to find the regional Office for your area. And please follow through. People like that give good providers a bad name and endanger kids.

  3. you would need to contact the licensing agency in your city/town.  if you don't know who that is, you can call the police and explain it to them.

it's not just a case of her not being able to handle that many.  it's a situation that it's illegal.  laws are there for us to obey......all of them.  not just the ones we want to obey, like or agree with.  she's teaching these children to not follow the laws and the parents are helping her get away with it.

  4. You report child care providers to social services (or in PA it's call the department of public welfare)

here are all the important telephone numbers:

    http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/About/0036707...

All reports are confidential anyway so don't let your worry of being a "tattle tale" stop you.

Thanks for looking out for the kids! :)

  5. I wonder if the parents know she is not licenced
