Tiago and Awesome Gem in a rematch of the Goodward Stakes. Student Council is a tough competitor after his race in Japan. Monterey Jazz stunned everybody in the Strub Stakes. Since Molengao was retired, he was the biggest threat in the field last year to Lava Man. Since Lava Man is not returning to defend his title, this is an open race to any horse!

I like Go Between.  It's a really difficult race, though, and it's hard to throw any of them out.  I'm boxing Go Between and Celtic Dreaming, simply because Gomez and Solis are really patient riders when they need to be and a shocking number of races at SA come down to those two.  Every time a $180 exacta comes back Gomez/Solis or vice versa and I didn't bet it, I feel like a dope.

Student Council. The way SA has been running lately his closing style should win it! He has been training lights out, and I am looking for him to redeem himself from his last race ( finished 5th).

Poor Great Hunter hasn't yet returned to his pre-injury form.  He was going to be a decent 3 year old... it's a shame really.
