An atheist or a follower of another Abraham's faith(Jews, Christians,Muslims)?

Do you feel more aggrieved and incensed by someone saying God doesn't exist or by someone saying their religion is better than yours (fundamentally speaking)

  1. I really don't care who insults my religious beliefs. I find it odd though when so called Atheists bash religions with many words. A real atheist just says "I don't believe in God because <input reason(s) here>." These idiots bash God and you for believing in it. You can't hate something you don't believe in.

  2. Everyone!

I neither feel aggravated or incensed by anyone who criticizes my beliefs.

If I cannot backup my beliefs with reasoning then the criticism will of course stand and it deserves to.

But if I can, then the criticism is only an opportunity for me to present the case for Christianity.

And I will take that opportunity in a Q&A forum such as this all day.  Other forums such as real time chat tend to lend themselves to just arguments and bantering.  Here there is a chance fro thinking instead of just responding instantly.

Now I do not have any allusions about whether or not I am making a difference, I am only spreading the good news as I was instructed.  God will make the difference.

Some seeds will fall on good soil and some will not.

  3. im muslim and i really dont care what other people have to say about my religion unless they are gonna start lying about it...and i dont care if someone doesnt belive in god unless they tell me im stupid that i belive in him.

there critizizing would all be the same from both because its all against islam :]

  4. Actually, I get more upset by people who don't even bother learning anything about my religion (or anyone's religion) running around and spouting lies about it and using those lies as the basis of their critique. If you're going to criticize something, you could at least put in some effort to know what, precisely, you're criticizing (general "you," not the asker or anyone else in particular).

  5. As long as the critiques are genuine and done in a respectful manner, I'm generally open to them. But I suppose it's more irritating when it comes from within my own belief system (people of one Christian denomination saying that I'm going to burn in h**l for being a member of the "wrong"  denomination). That happens fairly frequently. These people aren't making intellectual arguments against my belief system or using rational debate tactics; they're just consigning me to h**l. I don't mind being asked a rational question by an atheist, or a non-Christian. I'm also open, of course, to questions from believers both inside and outside of my denomination. But the "you're going to h**l" gang is getting wearisome. As for people saying that God doesn't exist, or that different gods/goddesses exist, that's their opinion, and I can respect that.

  6. In the end does it really matter anyways?

  7. What is better than love?  My faith - not religion - teaches me to love all, including my enemies.  To forgive all, all the time.  To show mercy to the poor, the stranger, the outcast.  To judge no-one.  I have the Holy Spirit in me.  An aspect of God Himself.  He teaches and guides me.  He gives me the power to change, to shake off my old nature and to become more like Christ.  To show love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, trustworthiness and self control.  God shares His power through me, as He does all who follow Him.  Power to heal, to bring freedom, peace, transformation.

What could be better than this?  Who wouldn't want this life?

  8. I don't criticize my religion of my beliefs, but atheist do.

They are just jealous of my faith because they were not "CHOSEN".

    GOD BLESS!    AMEN!    SHALOM!

  9. I am not bothered by any of the situations you mentioned.

  10. I don't have a religion, but criticism is a free for all, if you ask me.

  11. I don't have a religion, but they both p**s me off. How dare you say I will burn in h**l because I don't believe in what you believe, and how dare you tell me I am stupid for believing in "imaginary" things and my God is not real. Seriously, mind your own d**n businesses. Did tolerance go out of style?

  12. That's kind of a silly question. I would think that most people would want their religion to NOT be criticized.

  13. as an atheist i do not feel incensed by either scenario as i do not believe any gods exist anyway, and atheism is not a religion (in fact it is a rejection of theism) so religions are not comparable with it

  14. don't care who

  15. Y'Shua is quite capable of defending Himself.

  16. I am answerable to God alone.

No man-made institution has sovereignty over me.

  17. Anyone can critize my religion, and they do.  But on a personal level, I would prefer another Christian point out my mistakes with scripture, as opposed to an Atheist who doesn't understand and/or believe what I do.

(Hope that doesn't offend anyone, it's just a fact.)

  18. I like debating anyone with well reasoned arguments.

  19. why would i wanna criticize what i believe in? o_o

  20. As an atheist I would prefer someone of an uncommon religion like paganism, because they constantly have to defend their faith and thus would be interesting to debate.

  21. someone sayin religion is better than someone elses. by sayin god exist, ur basically just talkin to urself. by sayin ur religion is better than someone else's ur challengin a certain person and their beliefs.

  22. If you proselytize your beliefs, it is open game for criticism by anyone.

  23. i am an atheist

i feel offended if someone wants to convince me that god is good.

if he exists and is like any religion describes him, we are all doomed cause he is evil and enjoys toturing us.

  24. At least Moslems and Jews usually know what they are talking about. You don't get the school boy level name calling off of them that you get off of atheists.
